Hey, there, MFR Readers. I’ve got three hot hip-hop tracks for you to consider. First up is the first single from Eyedea and Abilities’ By The Throat, the first album in five ‘effin years from the duo. The track is called “This Story.” Next up is the latest from Muja Messiah, and it’s called “Yes Sir.” It’s the first official track released from the brand spankin’ new Flyover Land Vol. 1, Midwest Broadcast’s first mixtape. In the laconic words of ancient times, “holy shit! Congrats!”

Lastly, we’ve got St. Paul Slim, and his joint “Is This Mic On?” Not only is the answer to that question “yes,” but Slim does an admirable job of using said mic to do some serious spittin’. That track is from Recession Music, another recently released CD/mixtape. In order to celebrate the Recession, all of the peeps involved are going to have a release party. Dig it:

Taken directly from the press release:

Generously sponsored by local skate store Cal Surf, the Recession Music Release Celebration goes down June 13 at the Fine Line Music Café. This 18+ event is free with a ticket or secret password, as Stophouse’s way to thank fans for their overwhelmingly positive response to Recession Music. In addition to Recession Music heroes Prof and St. Paul Slim, the show will feature sets by local mainstays Big Zach and Get Cryphy DJs Plain Ole Bill, DJ Fundamentalist and Jimmy2Times.

That’s Saturday June 13th at the Fine Line Music Cafe.

Listen to all three tracks at the top of the post.
