The release of MPLS hip-hop duo Eyedea and Abilities’ first album in five years, By The Throat, is but a few weeks away, and it would seem as if the twosome are, well, grabing by the throat in order to promote it.

First, E&A released “This Story,” then the played By The Throat in its entirety at Intermedia Arts, and now they’ve released another song from Throat called “Burn Fetish.”

In contrast to “Story,” “Fetish” is a lot more ominous sounding, with a slower tempo, shuffling downtempo beat, and atmospheric keyboards contributing to the ambience. With a refrain stating that “empathy is the poor man’s cocaine,” E&A bemoan relationship problems with quick-worded aplomb.
