Dear Landlord - “I Live In Hell” (Plus: Star-Trib and Switchblade Comb list their Best Local Records so far)

*MP3: Dear Landlord - “I Live In Hell”

Switchblade Comb recently opined about Dear Landlord, a pop-punk group consisting of “former MPLS pop punk powerhouse Rivethead, and current powerhouse Off With Their Heads,” as well as members from a Chicago band called The Copyrights (of whom I’ve not heard, actually).

Naturally, I was colored curious, so I checked it out. Dear Landlord are definitely for fans of D4 (coughhackwheeze*IanAnderson*cough) styled pop-punk. I hope you agree. Check it out at the top of the post.

Additionally, both Switchblade and the Star-Trib listed recently their favorite records of the year so far, with the Strib writing up local records for the most part. Both lists appear to be pretty solid, though I’d have His Mischief, Gay Beast, and the Midwest Broadcast mixtape on my list.

What about you, readers? What are your favorite MPLS records of the year?
