Appreciation Post: Britney Spears

I was having an argument with my main dude Jacob Huelster last week about the musical direction of Britney Spears. He argued that he wasn’t particularly down with “Circus” due to the fact that Britney does very little actual singing on the record and more of talk-singing, which bugged him. I, on the other hand, really enjoyed “Circus” for its undeniable production value and the very truth that “Womanizer” is a jam.

However, to be honest, at the time of this argument, I was not particularly well-versed in B-to-the-T’s back catalog. So I went back and took a listen and there is some truth to what Jacob is saying.

Here are a few classic Britney songs that I thought were worth reminding you about.

And, just for fun, remember when this happened?
